We are seeking an APS5 Communications and Satellite Cell Engineer. As an Engineering professional, you will be primarily involved with providing Capability Managers and the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) with engineering support. These activities range from assisting with requirement definitions, tender evaluations, participating in design reviews, attending hazard workshops, risk assessments, attending test and trials, along with supporting the Director General on Materiel Governance Authority (MGA) and MS FIC activities.

About our Team
Communications & Satellite Systems Cell (CSS) exists within the Directorate of Navy Engineering (DNE). DNE is responsible for supporting DGENG-N (Directorate General Engineering- Navy) in the following Naval Engineering Branch (NEB) areas:
a. Major Systems Fundamental Input to Capability (MS FIC) Requirements Lead;
b. Provision of complex technical and engineering advice, products and services in respect to Naval technical matters in accordance with the strategic direction set by the Chief of Navy (CN) and the Chief of Defence Force (CDF); and
c. Provision of Navy technical and engineering expertise and support to the Continuous Naval Shipbuilding (CNS) Program.
The Directorate of Navy Engineering predominantly operates in the capability development and acquisition phases of projects, and is responsible for feeding in to the above via:
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual with a strong interest and sound understanding of RF communications engineering principles. You will be someone that is accountable for organising your workflow and making independent decisions relating to your area of responsibility. You will be confident to interpret and provide advice within the communications engineering function based on legislation, policy and procedures. As an Engineering professional, you will also undertake specialist, technical research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and investigations and perform procedural or operational support work to achieve results.
To succeed in this role, you will have the capability to coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. As an APS 5, it is expected that you will be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identify opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit.
Excellent engagement and communication skills will also ensure your success, so as to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to stakeholders as and when required.
