About our Team
Naval Construction Branch (NCB) aims to be recognised as the critical driver in the delivery of capability to Navy within the national shipbuilding enterprise. The long-term, continuous build program outlined in Government’s Naval Shipbuilding Plan of 2017 requires Defence to take a new approach in the waterfront management of ship and submarine construction and that is why NCB are calling for applications from talented, motivated and skilled people to drive this critical national agenda. The Engineering and Technician roles will be required to work in a complex operating environment in Osborne, SA or Henderson, WA as part of NCB, supporting the delivery of continuous shipbuilding across multiple ship construction projects. You will be an integral part of the Technical Directorate undertaking and supporting the production assurance and testing of the ship construction products and systems across the SA and WA shipyards and subcontractors.
You will work within the shipyard and be actively engaged with the shipbuilding process. You will interact with the various Government project teams, the ship designer and ship constructor engineers, and the shipyard workers. You may also have the opportunity to participate in Sea Trials of the vessels during verification and pre-commissioning testing.
We have one actual vacancy in WA and three actual vacancies in SA. A merit pool will be created to fill similar ongoing and non-ongoing positions that become available within the next 12 months.
