The Opportunity
Our Central Energy region is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our growing team by carrying out preliminary and detailed analysis and design of electrical power systems for a range of clients and industries. This person will be based in the Sydney office.
  • Accountable for electrical engineering analysis and undertakings as well as upholding compliance with Australian Standards and relevant regulatory acts of legislation and best practice.
  • Carry out preliminary and detailed analysis and design of electrical power systems for a range of clients and industries.
  • Considers safety in design throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare specifications, drawings, reports and other deliverables as required for each individual project.
  • Identify opportunities for personal development and bring these to the attention of his or her manager.
  • Ability to manage projects of small - medium complexity and act as the Lead Engineer, supervising teams of professional staff including developing/mentoring junior engineers
  • Ability to deliver the best client outcomes, whilst managing safety, risk and commercial performance
  • Demonstrates a strong client focus, willing to participate in business development activities, including client relationship management, pursuits and proposal preparation
  • Skilled at collaborative working, have good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.

What we'll love about you
  • Bachelor's degree (Electrical Engineering) or Equivalent.
  • Proven experience (3 - 8 years) in delivery of electrical design (LV/MV/HV) for projects in power generation (coal, gas, CCGT, hydro, renewables), oil and gas, and other process industries, which could include specification, owner's engineer, concept and detail design, studies and analysis, testing and commissioning roles
  • Experience in the use of power system analysis software, such as, SKM PTW, PSCAD, PSS/E or similar.
  • Ability to manage projects of small - medium complexity and act as the Lead Engineer, supervising teams of professional staff including developing/mentoring junior engineers
  • Ability to deliver the best client outcomes, whilst managing safety, risk and commercial performance

Remuneration
The salary range for the position on offer is AUD $70,000 to $80,000 (including super).
