NRG Gladstone Operating Services (NRGGOS), a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Energy Inc. operates and maintains the 6 unit, 1680MW Gladstone Power Station. Queensland's largest single power station, this world-class facility provides customers with safe, reliable, low-cost electricity.
The Company operates a scheme that provides financial assistance to full-time students who live within Gladstone Regional Council District who are enrolled in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree course at any tertiary institution.
There is an opportunity for two Scholarships, one for Electrical and one for Mechanical Engineer Degree students. Students who are enrolled or who are awaiting advice of enrolment into an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Degree course can apply for a $2,500 per annum NRG scholarship. The scholarship shall be provided for the minimum number of years required to complete the relevant course of study, when studying full-time.
Applications are invited from full-time students who will be commencing their first year of an Engineering Degree in 2021, after completing Year 12 in 2020.
Interested applicants must submit a letter of application, along with a 500 word statement stating why they believe they should be awarded a scholarship, copies of Year 11 and 12 subject results, andOP Score. Selection shall be based on academic performance, assessment of the above statement and an interview.
