Our Technology Division at ActewAGL is looking for a highly engaged, customer focused and experienced .NET Developer to work on developing digital solutions to support ActewAGL Retail.

As the .NET Developer, you will be a strong communicator, and play a critical role in the team understanding the many in-house applications as they are developed in .NET. To help develop, support, and innovate, you will work closely with Designers, Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and the broader Technology team to deliver for the business. The role involves having the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, whilst having good analytical and development skills. Strong attention to detail is essential for this role.

Your day in the role:

  • Develop and maintain .NET solutions for a range of technical and business problems.
  • Ability to program enterprise .NET applications
  • Contribute to solution architecture for enterprise environments that require complex systems integration.
  • Participate in a highly motivated software development team, which are committed to delivering the highest quality solutions.
  • Ensuring customer privacy, data security and performance are considered in all development services.
  • Contribute to the development of IT practices and procedures that optimise development techniques within the team.
  • Remain up to date with the terminology, concepts and best practices for coding.

You will need to be successful:

  • Degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Capability to balance operational needs and software development for the business.
  • Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience wth the ASP .NET framework, ASP .NET core, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns including MVC, WCF and Web API.
  • Experience in XML, JSON, UML, CSS3, Javascript and HTML5
  • Experience implementing and/or supporting continuous deployment with tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with modern version control systems such as GIT or VSTS/Azure for DevOps.
  • Ability to conduct unit testing in Test Driven Development.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and work with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
