The Director Capability Assurance (DCA) is a senior executive within the Headquarters of the Air Warfare Centre. The DCA reports directly to the Commander Air Warfare Centre and provides a focal point for logistics and technical governance including oversight of AWC engineering, quality and safety management systems.
The position holds a delegation from the Defence Aviation Safety Authority as the Continuing Airworthiness Manager for state aircraft operated under the AWC Military Aviation Operators Certificate.
DCA is responsible for the Air Force Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C4I) Capability Management Office (CCMO) within the AWC. CCMO is dedicated to supporting and enabling Air Force C4I and Cyberspace capabilities and systems, aligning management of these systems using existing aviation technical integrity processes sourced from the Continuing Airworthiness/DASR model and maintaining the integrity of these systems consistent with Capability Life Cycle (CLC) requirements. The CCMO also addresses the cyber worthiness, certification and accreditation, emanations security and vulnerability assessment requirements of these systems.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to manage a diverse team of Defence and APS personnel across multiple disciplines and areas of practice.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to achieve and maintain professional accreditation through Engineers Australia as a Chartered Professional Engineer and Engineering Executive.
