The Role
This is a unique opportunity to apply your engineering experience to an exciting array of aircraft types and systems. The position will suit someone who thrives in a leadership role. Leadership scope extends to all SRSPO engineers.


  • Leading continual improvement of the engineering systems used in the management, development and support of P-8A Poseidon, P-3 Orion and Aircraft Life Support systems and support the integration of future aviation systems.
  • Exercising Chief of Office of Airworthiness responsibilities.
  • Assisting the Chief Engineer on the assurance of Military Type Certificate Holder obligations.
  • Assisting the Chief Engineer on the capability of the Design Support Network.
  • Leading process improvement initiatives, measurement and auditing.
  • Interpreting engineering performance metrics.
  • Reviewing and approving technical documentation
  • Representing the Chief Engineer at project and design reviews. Providing authoritative advice to, and liaison with, unit executives/airworthiness authorities/project teams.
  • Providing advice to sustainment/engineering/project staff on all aspects of SRSPO aviation capabilities.

About our Team
Surveillance and Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) ensures the availability and performance of highly complex surveillance and response airborne and related systems for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). This includes the P-8A Poseidon and the P-3C (Electronic Warfare) aircraft systems. SRSPO also acquires and supports common Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) that is used on all air vehicles operated by the RAAF, Navy and Army.

In the near future we will support a new remotely piloted high altitude long endurance aircraft system, the MQ4 Triton. At SRSPO we are passionate about working with our stakeholders and industry partners to ensure that necessary acquisition, sustainment and regulatory requirements are fulfilled in order to support the warfighter and achieve the Department of Defence’s strategic and operational objectives.
