The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for you to join the Asset Strategy branch of Evoenergy as Commissioning Engineer.

We are looking for a technical expert who is passionate about power and cares about driving positive safety behaviour every single day.

Is this you?

A day in the life:

  • Lead the network assets and customer connections acceptance activities
  • Ensure high voltage Substation equipment, embedded generation, overhead lines and underground cables are commissioned in accordance with relevant network technical standards and specifications
  • Define the detailed commissioning requirements at the planning and the design phases for all major projects
  • Permit the network assets and customer connections energisation
  • Mentor and support early career engineers to build and grow technical expertise

About you

  • You hold a bachelor degree in electrical engineering (power) or an equivalent qualification
  • You have demonstrated knowledge and experience of electricity distribution, transmission and zone substation networks
  • You have proven experience in acceptance, appraisal and commissioning of assets, preferably in a high voltage electricity transmission and distribution environment
  • You think tactically and strategically and enjoy developing operational and strategic plans
  • You care about the trends and changes impacting the utility industry and know how to embed and modernise commissioning practices
