Cardno currently has a great opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our North Queensland Business based out of Townsville. You will join an established team of Project Managers, Engineers, Designers and Drafters to deliver dynamic solutions across a wide range of public and private sector projects with a specific focus on the water sector.

The role

Cardno currently has a great opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our North Queensland Business based out of Townsville. You will join an established team of Project Managers, Engineers, Designers and Drafters to deliver dynamic solutions across a wide range of public and private sector projects with a specific focus on the water sector.

Specifically, your duties will include –

  • Measured sector growth and increased market share across North Queensland
  • Project Management of water related projects from inception to completion
  • Preparation of engineering and design services for a range of projects including pumping stations and trunk pipelines, bulk water infrastructure, coastal infrastructure as well as master planning and network modelling.
  • Engaging with clients to develop innovative solutions and resolution of complex design issues
  • Providing technical input into scope of works and timing of projects
  • Conducting site visits and investigations and assisting in field surveys
  • Mentoring for junior design teams

About you

To be successful you will display –

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering combined with substantial experience in water infrastructure
  • RPEQ status or eligibility to gain RPEQ will be advantageous
  • Relevant knowledge of design standards and legislation
  • Strong interpersonal skills to commercially manage client needs and expectations
  • Effective communication and influencing skills
