The Opportunity

We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our highly regarded team of industry practitioners who value technical expertise and innovation, to apply practical on-the-ground problem solving and engineering solutions and work with their Clients collaboratively to deliver successful outcomes.

As a member of KBR’s Water & Industries team in Sydney you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of challenging projects that expand your skill base and keep you engaged. On any given day you could be designing a pipeline for a major piece of critical infrastructure or assisting a Local Government to manage their water assets through comprehensive modelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributing to multi-disciplinary teams delivering water and wastewater planning projects across municipal and water resource infrastructure projects and providing water and wastewater infrastructure related services
  • Working within and delivering technical work autonomously and as part of a team, including investigation, analysis and design tasks to support water and wastewater system
  • Maintaining client liaison in relation to water and wastewater networks and systems
  • Assist in the development of pipeline alignments and routes, taking into account environmental and geotechnical conditions, utility and other crossings.
  • Assist in the planning, design and execution of water pipeline projects and pump stations working closely with senior engineers
  • Preparation of small project proposals
  • Project manage small projects within a consultancy environment
  • Managing budget and resources to achieve financial targets within projects with respect to new work
  • Producing technical designs and reports and technical specifications to a high standard, contributing to KBR’s reputation for the delivery of quality project outputs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in technical report writing
  • Ability to manage small sized projects
  • Ability to manage own workload on time and to budget.
  • Demonstrated Strong focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Familiarity and application of industry standards
  • Exposure to GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS) and CAD applications
  • Exposure to risk assessment and management of risk
  • Exposure to and the application of WSA Codes (Desirable)
