About The Role

We are seeking a talented graduate to intermediate level Civil Design Engineer to become a valued member of our busy multidisciplinary engineering office based in Hornsby, NSW.

The role presents an excellent opportunity for a willing and enthusiastic new or recent graduate wanting to build their civil design experience.  It is also suitable for an experienced practitioner wishing to build on their existing career and progress it to the next level.

It involves working from our Hornsby office on projects with a wide range of civil engineering works including:

  • Flood assessments, remediation and management plans.
  • Property and development drainage assessment.
  • Development of site water quality, quantity and drainage solutions.
  • Civil engineering design of earthworks, roads, regrading, etc.

Competitive salary on offer, negotiable on the basis of experience.

About You

We are seeking candidates that take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, are punctual, reliable, hardworking and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

It is essential for the applicants to have:

  • Civil Engineering degree recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Sound understanding of civil engineering principles (hydrology, hydraulics, traffic, road design, etc.).
  • Good written and verbal communications skills in English.
  • The ability to work in a culturally diverse and multi disciplinary team environment.
  • Positive and proactive attitude and be motivated, team player, organised and eager to learn.
  • The ability to think critically, follow a system and have sharp eyes for detail.
  • Full time Australian work rights, preferably permanent (no restricted visa holders).

Any of the following experiences and qualities will be considered favourable:

  • Previous experience in multi disciplinary consultancy, especially in land development and subdivision projects, preferably in Australia.
  • Hydraulic, hydrological and water quality models (TUFLOW, DRAINS, HEC-RAS, RAFTS, MUSIC, 12d Model’s DNE, etc.).
  • GIS software packages (QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.).
  • Civil design and modelling software packages (12d Model, Civil 3d, etc.).
  • Computer programming and scripting (Python, PyQGIS, VBA, PowerShell, C++, AutoLISP, etc.).
  • CAD software packages (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, etc.).
  • NSW full driver licence.
