Deliver Expert Advice | Major Infrastructure Projects | F/T or P/T

Our client, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure plays a critically important role in South Australia, managing all aspects of planning and land use; and the maintenance, operation and service delivery across all of the State’s transport networks, construction of transport and other government-funded infrastructure.

This executive appointment provides the successful appointee with the unique and exciting opportunity to capitalise on their extensive experience, significant engineering expertise and established industry credibility to represent the State Government with confidence, rigour and impact. In accepting the newly created role of Chief Engineer your leadership and influence will have state-wide impact and will aid in the decision making of some of the State’s most significant projects.

A key element of this role will be in the ongoing development of critical internal and external working relationships including with inter-governmental partnerships, stakeholders and the broader community. Your ability to advise strategically on large-scale infrastructure projects will be underpinned by your impressive engineering and technical background and will be applied to matters associated with the engineering and design of roads, marine and other large-scale civil projects.

The appointee will be highly regarded throughout industry and respected for their comprehensive knowledge of engineering systems, practices, standards, guidelines, processes and techniques and importantly for their level of strategic thought and commercial outlook.

This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis according to the preferred working arrangements of the appointee and will appeal to senior level engineering professionals with well-developed interpersonal communication skills, an outstanding reputation, impressive problem-solving capability combined with an obvious passion for the engineering field.
