The Role
DCA are responsible to Chief of Air Force for providing Safety Assurance for all Defence Registered Aircraft. As an Aviation Safety Assurance Officer (ASAO)you will be required to review, assess and recommend approvals to both organisations and individuals within DASR 66, 147, 145 and M community. Other duties also include developing regulations, providing training, developing regulatory advice, communicating risk and the conduct of oversight and enforcement of the regulated community.
The role requires frequent interstate travel, offers regular training, personal development opportunities and flexible working environment.
About our Team
Candidate will find being part of the Directorate Continuing Airworthiness (DCA)rewarding and a valuable contribution to Aviation Safety. DCA is accountable for assuring the Continuing Airworthiness of ADF aviation. DCA are responsible for DASR Parts 145, M, 66 and DASR 147 and DCA Responsibilities includes;
• prescribe regulations, acceptable means of compliance, and guidance material
• conduct education, training and communication
• approve or accept DASR organisations, key personnel, and artefacts
• conduct oversight and enforcement of DASR organisations
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will preferably have a background in Aviation Safety Management Systems, Quality Management or Risk Management within a Aviation Engineering and or Maintenance organisation.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to use their initiative and experience to research, analyse, plan, review and adjust priorities and work activities to meet business outcomes.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence providing detailed technical, professional and procedural advice in relation to complex technical activities.
In addition the candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform stakeholder engagement and build and foster good working relationships to develop and communicate a clear understanding of the methodology and practices to achieve outcomes.
