You will engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to provide support to the Defence aviation community in matters related to initial airworthiness regulations; compliance with design requirements; certification of military aircraft and related products, parts and appliances; and assurance of design and production organisations.

The Directorate of Initial Airworthiness (DIA) plays a critical part in prescribing policy and regulation, providing certification of Defence aviation systems and oversight of Defence aviation organisations.

Our Ideal Candidate
DASA are looking for motivated aerospace/aviation (or related) engineers with experience in design, production or management of aircraft, or other safety critical systems, with a keen interest in safety performance. Practical experience in relation to aviation safety, in particular application of system safety, and evaluation of aviation safety risks is highly desirable.
You will be able to apply your critical thinking skills to research and analyse aviation safety policy and assure the safety of aircraft designs, and use your experience to determine policy impacts and make recommendations regarding approval/certification of aircraft designs. You will be able to confidently apply your advanced verbal and written communication skills to deliver promotional and guidance materials.
