The Opportunity
An exciting new role has opened up within Boeing Research & Technology for an early career Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer. The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team directly supporting research and development programs.

This role is based in Melbourne.

Responsibilities
BR&T-A is the research arm of the Boeing Company in Australia. As part of BR&T-A, you will be working on projects related to development of flight systems through numerical analysis and mechanical design.
As an Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer you will

  • Develop Finite Element models to study structural dynamics of aircraft and their components
  • Apply Computational Fluid Dynamics in support of work related to the development of flight control systems
  • Develop codes to post process and analyse numerical results
  • Design and perform design analysis on mechanical components that will be used in experimental programs such as flight tests

Experience/Qualifications
This is an early career role where considerable on the job training will be provided, so a demonstrated ability to adapt, learn and solve complex problems will be critical to success.
To be considered for this role you must:

  • Hold a tertiary degree qualification in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Be effective as a team participant
  • Have demonstrable basic skills in numerical analysis as applicable to aerospace problems
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be an Australian citizen and be eligible to obtain a security clearance
