About the team

Located at RAAF Base Richmond, the Air Mobility Program provides Through Life Support (maintenance, engineering and logistics) to the Royal Australian Air Force C-130J Hercules platform.

In support of this Program, the Airframe Equipment & Integration Engineering team is responsible for providing design engineering support.

About the role

Reporting to the Team Lead Richmond Equipment In-Service, this role is responsible for working within an engineering team to develop and deliver design solutions, using a systems engineering design philosophy, in accordance with the level and scope of Engineering Authority delegated to you.

You can anticipate some of your day-to-day activities to include:

  • Executing technical Design Engineering tasks
  • Providing expertise in the discipline for type investigation relevant to certification and Continued Airworthiness
  • Interfacing closely with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the Support Engineering team and Planning/Coordination teams

About you

  • A high degree of personal and professional integrity
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, standards and best practices in either a Defence or Civil environment
  • Understanding of maintenance and engineering cost drivers and how to ensure  cost effectiveness
  • Tertiary qualifications in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or compatible discipline
  • Ability to solve high level service issues, with strong analytical and strategic problem solving skills
