As part of our transport team you will plan, develop and deliver transport strategies and projects across the municipality, with a lens to encourage sustainable and active transport. The position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate initiatives within existing and new funding opportunities. While the position has an emphasis on active transport, it will also provide general transport planning guidance, particularly on initiatives relating to the region’s growth and development.

This permanent, full-time position involves:
Preparing, planning and delivering both strategic and capital transport projects that respond to current and future growth challenges.
Preparing and providing status reports on strategies and projects.
Identifying and pursuing funding opportunities for research and capital works developments in line with policy and priorities.
Providing engineering advice on matters such as, traffic and transport planning, active transport best practice, and engineering documentation (including drawings, strategic plans, policies).
Delivering an excellent customer service experience in relation to matters concerning the City’s transport and traffic management, including the resolution of complex customer and stakeholder enquiries relating to the role.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or relevant field).
Proven competence in project management with the ability to plan, prioritise and organise work and deliver integrated outcomes.
Excellent organisation skills with the ability to coordinate and manage competing timelines.
High motivation with knowledge and experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and delivering capital projects.
Well-developed written skills and the ability to prepare reports of a complex nature and present information in a concise and accurate manner.
Skilled in the communication of complex ideas, community consultation, facilitation of and negotiation with stakeholders to produce quality outcomes.
