The Future Submarine Program (FSP), Australia’s largest Defence program, has taken on the challenge to deliver to the Royal Australian Navy a regionally superior, sovereign Submarine capability.

 

Submarines are a unique Defence capability and play an essential role in supporting Australia's maritime security, and your work within the program, by engaging with Navy and Industry suppliers will ensure that Navy has an enduring and potent Submarine capability.

As a Naval Architect or Material Seaworthiness Assurance Engineer, you will perform an important role in the design acceptance and Seaworthiness assurance of the future submarine products delivered by the submarine design partners, Naval Group and Lockheed Martin Australia.

You will be responsible for the technical evaluation of submarine designs against performance requirements and standards within your engineering area of competence and to assist in progressively establishing Seaworthiness assurance of the Future Submarine (FSM).

 

This will require you to use your initiative and experience, to research, analyse, plan, review and adjust work priorities to meet program outcomes. You will undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence, providing detailed professional advice in relation to design, integration, analysis, testing, and seaworthiness activities.
