About the role:
Responsible for assisting the Coordinator, Engineering Design Services with the design supervision and the delivery of quality design and documentation for road, place, and stormwater projects that are approved by Council and establishing and monitoring of council’s engineering standards.
As a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) you will have formal qualifications (Degree) in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and extensive relevant experience in the discipline. A post graduate qualification is also desirable.
You will be a highly analytical and research based individual with the capacity to problem solve and make decisions using your ability to examine complex problems and develop innovative strategies for their resolution to a diverse client base.
You’ll have demonstrated leadership skills and experience that will see you confidently and positively lead and empower others in order to develop and coach team members and foster a workplace culture consistent with Council’s corporate values.
Your high level of interpersonal and communication skills in the areas of liaising, consulting, building effective relationships and teams, negotiating, conflict resolution and assertiveness will show you have the ability to meet changing organisational needs.
Additionally, you will have extensive knowledge and experience working with the relevant legislation, policies, procedures and standards specifically relevant to training and/or qualifications in the field of urban and rural roads and civil design.
